Full Dry De-shedding Cat Groom
Our full dry de-shedding groom includes a thorough coat assessment, dry shampoo and coat conditioning treatment, de-shedding, removal of minor knots, nail trimming and face & ear clean. We ensure the cat's hygiene area is clean and tidy.
We will carry out a clip removal of any matting that cannot be brushed or combed out.
Every appointment is carried out calmly and patiently, with your cat's comfort and wellbeing as our highest priority.
Lion & Teddy Trim
When a cat's coat becomes heavily matted, brushing alone is often no longer possible without causing pain or distress. In these situations, a Lion Trim or Teddy Trim can provide immediate relief while allowing the coat to grow back healthy and free from tangles.
A Lion Trim removes the coat from the body while leaving the mane, legs and tail tip, creating the classic "lion" appearance. A Teddy Trim leaves the coat slightly longer, giving a softer, more natural finish while still removing troublesome mats and making future grooming much easier.
Every cat is individually assessed before grooming, and we'll always recommend the option that best balances your cat's comfort, welfare and appearance. Our priority is never simply how your cat looks—it's ensuring they leave feeling happier, healthier and more comfortable.

A typical dry deshedding groom takes around 45 minutes. A bath and dry takes approximately 30 minutes, while a lion or teddy trim usually takes around an hour.

Yes. All cats attending the salon must arrive in a secure carrier. For everyone’s safety, we cannot accept a cat brought in without one.
Please bring your cat’s up-to-date vaccination records and any medicated shampoo you want us to use. Otherwise, we provide our own shampoo suitable for cats.
You are welcome to bring your cat’s favourite treats. We also have Webbox paste and Dreamies available. Please tell us about any allergies or dietary restrictions.
Owners usually leave their cat with us once we have assessed the coat and agreed the grooming plan. We will let you know when your cat is ready for collection.
We assess the coat while you are present and agree any clipping needed before starting. Some mats cannot be removed comfortably by brushing and may need to be clipped away.
If we discover sores beneath the matting, we will recommend veterinary assessment. Your cat’s welfare takes priority over achieving a particular style.
Yes. Matting can pull on the skin and conceal irritation, sores or other problems. Removing a tightly matted coat carries a risk of small nicks, clipper irritation and revealing existing skin damage. Some cats may lick or scratch the area afterwards.
We take care to minimise these risks and will explain the proposed approach before proceeding. Please contact us if you notice any concerns after the groom, and seek veterinary advice if your cat appears painful or unwell.
Please tell us before booking about any known handling difficulties, stress, anxiety or aggressive behaviour. If your pet’s behaviour makes it unsafe to continue, we may stop the groom to protect their welfare and everyone’s safety.
If grooming has to be abandoned for these reasons, the full appointment fee remains payable, as the time has been reserved solely for your pet. For home visits, the agreed travel charge also remains payable.
Future appointments may be declined on welfare or safety grounds.
Yes. Cats must have up-to-date vaccination records and be free from fleas for both salon and home appointments. It is the owner’s responsibility to check this before the appointment.
If we arrive for a home visit and discover fleas, we will abandon the groom. The full grooming fee and agreed travel charge remain payable.
Yes, home appointments are available by enquiry within a 30-mile radius of Carnforth.
The grooming prices are the same as our salon prices, with travel charged separately. Please contact us with your postcode and your cat’s grooming requirements so we can confirm availability and the total quotation.
Travel is charged at £1.20 per road mile, including VAT, for both the outward and return journeys from our Carnforth salon.
For example, if your home is 20 road miles away, the total journey is 40 miles and the travel charge is £48, in addition to grooming. This covers fuel, business insurance, mileage/wear and tear and time away from the salon.
We confirm the travel charge before you book.
You must provide a secure room where your cat cannot escape, such as a kitchen, utility room or dining room. Doors and windows must be secured, and other pets should be kept out during the appointment.
We bring our own grooming table. Please discuss the available space with us when enquiring.
Absolutely. Our salon welcomes cats from Lancaster, Morecambe, Heysham, Bolton-le-Sands, Hest Bank, Kirkby Lonsdale, Arnside, Silverdale and surrounding areas.
For home visits, availability depends on your location within our 30-mile radius.
